FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. WHEN IS THE YARD SALE?
A. We have a couple of events during the year. The first weekend of May is the Spring Market. 20th Anniversary is the 1st weekend of August.
Q. HOW DO I BECOME A SELLER ON THE ROUTE?
A. We will host a main event at a location along Hwy.27 where you will have the opportunity to set up as a residential vendor.
If you live on Hwy 27 all you have to do is set up in your yard. Anyone can participate.
If you know someone who lives on the route, ask to setup in their yard.
Q. WHERE CAN I RENT A SPACE?
A. Check www.Hwy27YardSale.com for information on setup locations near you.
You can also check posts on our Facebook page.
Q. HOW DO I RENT SPACE TO OTHERS?
A. If you have spaces for rent in your yard or parking lot use our Contact form to tell us about it.
Q. WHAT DOES IT COST?
A. Each property owner may charge a fee for rental spaces.
Event Opportunities Available - More Information Coming Soon!
There are advertising opportunities for local business.
Q. WHAT CAN I SELL?
A. Anything! You'll be surprised what people will buy.
If you're planning to sell food, you should check with your local health department. Permits may be required.
Q. WHERE ARE THE YARD SALES LOCATED?
A. You'll find clusters along 27 everywhere. Check each states website to verify locations.
Q. WHO ORGANIZES THESE EVENTS?
A. Sunshine Events, LLC hosts the main event at headquarters.
Each community coordinates the activities for their area. (We are happy to help).
Some communities are more involved in the process than others.
If you're interested in organizing your area, please let us know.
We desperately need organizers throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.
We have a Committee that will meet semi-annually to plan the event. Volunteers are invited to attend.
Information about upcoming meetings are posted on our website and Facebook.
Q. WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
A. Each seller must decide their start time. I would advise being set up and ready no later than 8 a.m. Many start at 6 a.m.
Plan on staying until late in the evening. Business will slow between 3 and 5, but then it picks back up.
For buyers, "the early bird gets the worm!"
Yard Sale rule of thumb: Start when the fog lifts. Stop when the yard is empty.
Q. WHAT ABOUT PARKING?
A. Seller parking is usually provided with the space you rent.
Customer parking may be difficult in some places...ample in others.
Be cautious of drivers making quick stops and turns. There may be pedestrians on the roadway.
Be patient and courteous and everyone will have fun.
Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO TRAVEL THE YARD SALE ROUTE?
A. That depends on where you start and how far you plan to go.
It's also a good idea to check the website for participation as some areas are undeveloped.
There are plenty of hotels, motels, cabins and campsites along the way.
If you'd like to advertise your motel, etc. on our website, go to www.Hwy27YardSale.com and use our contact page.
Q. ARE THERE PLACES TO EAT?
A. This is a great opportunity to try new things.
When you're ready to eat, ask the locals where they go. They know the best places to eat in their communities.
If you'd like to have your restaurant listed on our website, go to www.Hwy27YardSale.com and use our contact page to send us information.
Q. WILL I FIND BARGAINS?
A. Yes! and No. Some people think their items are worth a lot. It may be to them but not to you.
Some people think their stuff is worthless. You may think it's priceless.
If you feel an item is too high at one place, take a chance and pass it up. You'll probably find another one down the road.
Q. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
A. We Love Our Volunteers!
We can always need volunteers to help us grow our events. If you are interested in volunteering at headquarters or are interested in being a point of contact in your community please let us know.
Email Hwy27YardSale@gmail.com for more information on how you can get involved.

We make no guarantee as to participation by sellers or buyers in any state, county, or location.
This website is a portal to more information, if available, about The Hwy 27 Yard Sale in each state that has a U.S. Hwy 27.
Each State or area should develop their own committee and send a representative to our semi-annual planning meeting.
This event began in NW Georgia in the late '90's.
It was created as an alternate route for lost tourist from another yard sale event.
It now brings in it's own tourist and has expanded past the original route.
It is an opportunity for those who live on or close to U.S. Hwy 27 to clean out the clutter and turn it into cash.
The Hwy 27 Yard Sale Committee uses this website to promote a yard sale and community event for the residents along Hwy 27 and surrounding areas.
We encourage your input. Complete our survey or send a message.
Although we promote in general online, we do not currently actively promote in every state, hang tight we are working on it!
At the current time it is the responsibility of each state to have a coordinator for the event and to help promote it in their own state.
"Contact Us" if you would like to develop this event in your area.
